Where to find happiness
“When you are seeking happiness, completion, and sense of self worth in the arms of another person you have disconnected from your spiritual source”
I hope you were able to read that quote and really let it sink in. This quote single handedly changed my life. Once one can truly understand that and change your mindset, you will find happiness.
I try to drill this into everyone I know, but most people don’t seem to get it. They wonder why they are unhappy. They want to be happy, but don’t know how to be.
So where does one find happiness? Well, its simple. It comes from within. A lot of people think that they can find happiness from outside sources.
“If I have a boyfriend…”
“If I have better friends…”
“If I had more money…”
NO!! Only YOU can make yourself happy. You have the power inside of you. Happiness truly is a choice.
Being grateful and accepting of your current situation, having positive daily thoughts, and choosing happiness is all you need. No one and nothing can make you happy. I really wish people would stop trying to seek happiness and validation in others. You give away your power when you do that. We need to be able to be happy completely on our own before we can develop healthy relationships and live a fulfilling life.
People think they need others to be happy, they want to feel loved, and they want to feel accepted. This only causes trouble in the long run. I used to always want a boyfriend thinking it would make me happier, and I would rely on my friends for my happiness and to make me feel better. But I had the power to do this inside of myself all along. I am the only one who can truly make me feel loved, accepted, happy, confident, and complete. We must not put pressure on others to fill the void that we lack inside of ourselves.
So PLEASE try and listen to and understand that quote. If you feel unhappy and are constantly looking for someone to fill that empty void inside, take time to yourself and really dig deep within. Accept yourself and the life you live. By loving yourself, and getting in touch with your spiritual source again, you can become the best possible version of yourself that you can be. That is when you will truly find happiness.
