People on the Internet seem to get meaner every day. Any social site you go on people are starting petty arguments, or making fun of others. People sit at home on their computers and phones like cowards just to start leaving rude comments on Instagram photos or YouTube videos. How sad. I often wonder what does this does for them?
If I see someone I don’t like online, or a post I don’t like I simply just scroll past and move on with my day. I have never felt inclined to leave a mean or malicious comments or start an argument with someone. For what? What is the purpose?! I really don’t get it.
I think that now days self-esteem is at an all-time low and Internet trolling is at an all-time high. It makes people feel better about themselves to make fun of others online, knowing that the person can’t do anything about it. It’s crazy that people feel inclined to actually rip someone apart for what they look like, what their wearing, or their opinions ONLINE. Would you ever have the balls to do it in person? Probably not.
I’m just not going to lie, everyone is a little bit of a hater. People gossip and talk trash all the time. But where it gets ridiculous is when you actually feel the need to go out of your way to let someone know, and to make someone feel bad about themselves. Its not cool to be mean and it makes you a cyber bully. Just because you may not know the person, at the end of the day its still a human being with feelings on the other side of the screen. How would you feel if someone came at you over social media?
It just comes down to if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say it at all. I’m tired of people trying to act tough through a computer screen. You are so lame if you leave mean comments on peoples photos, posts, or videos. If you don’t like it.. just keep strolling.
We need to spread more positivity online because its becoming such a negative place. Internet trolls are becoming more common and cyber bullying is a huge issue. People have taken their own lives because of all the hate they have gotten online. So don’t be that person, don’t spread hate, and don’t be an Internet Troll.
